BRIEFLY TOLD
Mr.and Mrs. Del Foster have gone to Corpus Christi to reside.
"Believe it or not" - thermometer stand 100 in the shade on Winter street in
Marlin at noon today.
Dr. Walter Torbett, Jr., has arrived for a month's vacation, having served the
past year as an interne at King's County Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y.
General and Mrs. J. C. Hooks, who were married at Montgomery, Ala., June 5, have
arrived in Marlin. Mrs. Hooks was Mrs. Alice M. Glass of Marlin.
Judge E. M. Dodson went to Cameron Monday to preside in district court, but the
case on call, in which Judge John Watson of that court was recused, was settled
before giving to trial. Judge Dodson returned to Marlin.
E. A. Flowers, formerly of Marlin and O. M. Weatherby of Waco passed through
Marlin today from a business trip to East Texas. "I believe business is on
the upward climb," said Mr. Flowers. "Business is headed toward normalcy,
but the improvement will be gradual."
