Joe Levy claims to have the smartest dog in Marlin. It is a fox terrier
and Joe says that it recognizes Mrs. Levy's picture, which he keeps in his
office, as Mrs. Levy refused to own it on account of its not being a good one.
Mrs. Levy is not at now and Joe says the terrier takes the absence of his
mistress very hard and very morning comes in the office and spends quite a long
while in gazing upon the photograph and "crying" in his own way. Joe
offers the evidence of Geo. Todd, Alex Nemer and S. J. Creaver, all visitors
here, in substantiation of the story.
-----
The fire department was called to Southeast Marlin friday night to extinguish a
small blaze. A cabin was discovered on fire and a hurry call turned in.
The boys had the fire under control in a short time, despite the refusal of one
of the teams to pull their wagon to the scene of the fire.
