A December apple blossom from a tree at the
J. C. Chatmas is on display in Chamber of Commerce offices.
Matt Hitchock of Lexington, formerly of
Marlin, lettered on the Texas Tech football team during the past season.
Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Johnson had for their
Christmas guest Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Kern, and the Misses Kern of Bryan and Dr.
and Mrs. Vern Scott of Stephenville.
Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Criswell have as
Christmas guests in their Mrs. Wyatt Jacobs and daughter, Marian of Cisco, Miss
Iva Lee Moon of Mart, and Jack Morgan of Columbus.
The Cabin Boys, Senior group, will meet
with Rev. F. P. Goddard at Memorial Cabin at 7:00 p.m. tonight. Plans will be
made for a big hike this week. The Junior group will meet at Memorial Cabin at
7:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
John Hume of Dallas spent the weekend in
Marlin.
W. O. Bunch has returned from a visit in
Dallas.
Miss Myrtle Smith, of Lillian is the guest
of her aunt, Mrs. Hugh Chilton.
Mrs. E. W. Smith left today on a visit with
relatives at Sulphur Springs.
D. C. Wheelock of Houston, former Marlin
resident, came up on a holiday visit.
Wm. Glass, Harlingen attorney, who formerly
resided in Marlin, is visiting here.
Alfred Landers has returned to his in Fort
Worth after several weeks visit in Marlin.
E. H. Cox and family of Oklahoma were
Christmas holiday visitors with W. W. Hunnicutt and J. H. Robertson in Marlin.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam McKinney returned to their
at Richards Sunday after a visit with his brother, Dave McKinney.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hardy of Houston were
weekend guests of relatives in Marlin. She was formerly Miss Elsie Hitchcock of
this city.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Denning and daughters,
Nancy and Nina, left today on a visit with Judge and Mrs. W. A. Griffin and
George Castle of Fort Sill, Oklahoma, W. B. Birchum, Jr., of Temple are guests
in the of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Sypert.
Miss
Marceline Marquis of Tulsa, Okla., who is attending Baylor University at Waco,
is spending the Christmas holidays with her aunt, Mrs. C. H. Tisdale.
Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Hailey of Meeker, Okla.,
where he is director of the department of vocational agriculture in the high
school, are guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Hailey.
Miss Katherine Haug, a member for the high
school faculty at Hemphill, is spending the holidays at home. Her sister, Miss
Sophia Haug, who came on a Christmas visit has returned to Ozona, where she is
teaching.
