Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Hicks have returned from their wedding trip to Stephenville and points in New Mexico and are at on Chambers street.

Mr. and Mrs. Ulmer Moore, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Dupuy and Mrs. Inez Norwood attended the funeral of Frank Parks at Powers Chapel Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Thomas of Oklahoma City arrived Thursday, Mr. Thomas leaving today on a business trip to Harlingen, Mrs. Thomas remaining here for the baths.

T. E. Battle reports a splendid rain on his and adjoining farms in the valley south of Marlin Thursday afternoon. All crops are looking good with the corn especially benefited

Mrs. Lillie Clark left Thursday of San Antonio to visit her daughter, Mrs. Garland ivy, who is in a hospital recovering form slight injuries sustained in an automobile accident recently.

Mr. and Mr.s David Handleman and their granddaughter, Miss Lillian Handleman, of New Orleans, are guests of Marlin relatives. Miss Handleman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Handleman, and was born in Marlin.

Judge Hunnicutt, county enlistment chairman, says Falls county is expected to be well represented at the annual Citizens Military Training Camp opening at Fort Sam Houston today and continues to July 18.

Ernest and Everett Maxwell, who attended Abilene Christian College at Abilene, are among Marlin students arriving recently.

Mrs. F. D. Glass of Waco, is a guest in the E. V. Ray home. She was accompanied to Marlin by her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Perry, and son who have returned to their at Valley View.
