TWO EX-CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS
Among the visitors to Marlin are two
exconfederate soldiers whose devotion to the south during its darkest period,
was rewarded by advancement to honorable positions in the armies of Secession.
General J. R. Johnson of Burnett, who by the way is blind, having lost his sight
as a result of two close contact with yankee powder, and Col. Phil Fall of
Houston who is now adjutant of Dick Dowling camp and a member of the staff of
Gen. Lee, commander of the reunited confederate veterans. Both of these
gentlemen are expected at the decoration day exercises this afternoon.
