HORACE G. YOUNG

Horace G. Young,
b 1844 in Conecuh County, Alabama-was a son of Sam C. and Eula Theria (Green)
Young-who came to Texas with the Stallworth and Tomlinson families. They settled
in Bell County, while the Stallworth and Tomlinson families settled in Falls
County, where some of their relatives had previously settled.
Horace enlisted in the
Confederate States Army at Belton, Texas-returning to Falls County after the
Civil War, where he was married to Amanda Tomlinson, b 1844 in Alabama, d August
5, 1885 and buried in Beulah Cemetery-a daughter of James Kendrick and Sarah
Jemina (Stallworth) Tomlinson. Horace and Amanda had four children:
Sarah E. Young,
b June 27, 1871, d February 29, 1894 and buried in Beulah Cemetery - married
Henry Bankston. They had two children before Sarah's death. Henry Bankston was
married second to his sister-in-law, Neata Young.
John Young, b ca
1873-maried Nadine Harris - a daughter of Abner Collins and Jerusha (Masters)
Harris. Abner was a veteran of the Civil War-having served in the Confederate
States Army. They moved away from Falls County, and had several children.
Horace Young, b
ca 1875-married. No further information.
Neata Young, b
ca 1877 - married her brother-in-law, Henry Bankston, after the death of her
sister, Sarah E. (Young) Bankston; and Henry and Neata (Young) Bankston had
several children.
After Amanda
(Tomlinson) Young died, Horace married secondly in 1887. No further information.
