William B. Yates, b May 1832 in Meade County, Kentucky, d 1913 in Marlin, Falls
County, Texas and buried there in Calvary Cemetery (no tombstone)-was married on
September 10, 1855 to Mrs. Elizabeth (Sipes) Yates, b August 1, 1832 in
Kentucky, d September 7, 1920 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin (no
tombstone)-a daughter of John Sipes and his wife (whose maiden surname was
Elliott), and a widow of William B. Yates' cousin, David Yates, by whom shehad
had a daughter, David Isabella Yates, b August 25, 1851 at Frankfort, Kentucky,
d January 21, 1935 in McKinney, Texas to William Tucker, and had James Sterling
Tucker, b 1867; and married second in Falls County, Texas in 1875 to Thomas J.
Rice, b June 11, 1850 in Bibb County, Alabama, d April 25, 1924 in Colorado.
William and Elizabeth moved to Missouri in 1855, where two of their children
were born. In 1860, they had settled in Collin County, Texas where they lived
until ca 1867, when they arrived in Falls county, Texas, and remained the rest
of their lives. Their children were:
Henry Yates, b 1856 in Missouri-was alive in Falls County in 1870. No further
information.
Lucie Sendrilla, b 1858 in Missouri, d 1937 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas and
buried in Calvary Cemetery-married Cody D. Wallace, b 1843, d 1916 and buried in
Calvary Cemetery in Marlin.
John William Yates, b 1860 in Texas-married first to Lela Frances Barbee, b 1866
in Arkansas, d 1884 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas; and married second to Maud
Jones, of Reagan.
Martha Flora Yates, b January 10, 1864 in Texas, d June 13, 1931 in Marlin,
Falls County, Texas and buried in Calvary Cemetery-married C.G. Cooley, b
December 19, 1855, d July 13, 1940 and buried in Calvary Cemetery at Marlin.
They operated the Cooley Boarding House in Marlin.
