Surnames: WILLIAMS, MADRY, GILLIHAN, RAILSBACK, COX, TAYLOR, PHELPS

William Lester Williams, b January 7, 1906 in the Indian Territory (now Oklahoma)-is a son of William Luther and Mary Lee (Madry) Williams. The parents returned to Falls County to live when Lester was an infant.
Lester moved to Howard County, Texas, where he was married to Juanita Gillihan. They returned to Falls County, where Lester became a farmer. He served as a School Trustee at Alto Springs for many years; and remembers the Brush Arbor meetings at Alto Springs. It was not until the late 1940's that electricity was installed at Alto Springs; and Lester remembers the 1930's when, before a Brush Arbor meeting, the ice truck delivered a 300 pound block of ice, which was lowered into the well at Alto Springs, which provided exceptionally cool water for the Revivals. The well at Alto Springs served for years as the water supply for the Alto Springs School, and the families in the community.
Lester is remembered by a niece, Mrs. Dorothy (Railsback) Cox as having the ability to pop the head off snakes.
Lester and Juanita (Gillihan) Williams are the parents of four children:

Weldon Williams, who married Peggie Jo Taylor, and resides in Pasadena, Texas.

Eudene Williams, who resides in Houston, Texas.

Wynell Williams, who married John H. Phelps, and resides in Pasadena, Texas.

Darrell Williams, who lives in Houston, Texas.
