Lawson Charles Williams-sometimes recorded as Charles Lawson Williams, but
always called "Lawson", b July 25, 1842 in Jefferson County, The Republic of
Texas, d March 9, 1920 and buried in Oddfellows Cemetery in Georgetown,
Texas-was a son of Charles and Emily (Patterson) Williams, who moved from
Louisiana to Texas (then Mexico) in 1832, and to Falls County, Texas in
1854-settling in the Jena Community of West Falls County.
In 1866, Lawson was married at Jena, Falls County, Texas to Nancy Jane
Waddell(called "Jennie"), b October 10, 1841 in Mississippi, d November 9, 1879
and buried in Oddfellows Cemetery at Georgetown, Texas. She and her younger
brother, John Waddell, were orphaned in Attala County, Mississippi, before 1850,
and were being reared in the of a Minister, Reverend Isaac Wells, of
Georgia.
Lawson and Jennie made their in several places during their life
together-having resided in Falls, Bell, Roberts, and Williamson Counties. She
had moved to Texas, and was a teacher in Falls and Bell County schools when she
met and married Lawson. He was a farmer and stockman all his adult life.
The four children of Lawson and Jennie(Waddell) Williams were:
Florence Williams, b January 12, 1867 in Oenaville, Bell County, Texas, d July
11. 1954-married June 11, 1891 to B.F. Jackson (called "Frank")-a Methodist
Minister. They had
Florence,
Fay,
Annie,
and B.F., Jr.-also a Methodist Minister. No further information.
Henry Morton Williams, b May 22, 1870 in Oenaville, Bell County, Texas, d July
14, 1950-married Cora Matelda McMilkile, b May 25, 1867, d May 11, 1959. They
were the parents of Zelma who married a Mr. Morris;
Roy,
and Lawson.
Waddell Pierce Williams, b May 11, 1873 in Oenaville, Bell County, Texas, d
September 3, 1977 while visiting in Magnolia, Arkansas, and buried in Rose Hill
Cemetery, Tyler, Texas, where he lived with a daughter, Eva. He married October
27, 1895 in Miami, Roberts County, Texas to Cora Jane Boney, b September 1,
1878, d January 29, 1968-a daughter of John Alexander and Mary Jane (Hill)
Boney. They had seven children.
Myron L. Williams, b December 9, 1875 in Oenaville, Bell County, Texas, d April
3, 1969 in Georgetown, and buried there in Oddfellows Cemetery. He was a
professor at Georgetown for fifty years. He was married first to Frances
Pearson; and on October 27, 1943, was married second to Ida (Shanks) Barr. He
had no children.
