JAMES WIMBISH WILLIAMS, JR.
James Wimbish Williams, Jr., b December 16, 1884 in Lee County, Texas, d
December 29, 1968 in Falls County, Texas and buried in Calvary Cemetery in
Marlin - was a son of James Wimbish Williams.
On March 23,1918, James Wimbish Williams, Jr. was married in Falls
County, Texas to Blanche Adaline Norwood, b January 9, 1892 on a farm northwest
of Marlin, Falls County, Texas, d October 18, 1973 at Houston, Harris County,
Texas and buried by her husband in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin - a daughter of
William Thomas and Kate Agnes (McBryde) Norwood.
James was primarily a rancher and cattleman. For a brief period during
the Depression of the 1930's, he moved his family to Houston, Texas, where he
worked - returning to Falls County, where he was a Foreman of the Hillary
Barganier Ranch. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marlin, and
served there as an Elder.
Blanche received her primary and secondary schooling at Marlin, and then
attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Upon receiving enough credit for a
Teacher's Certificate, she began teaching - first at the Lamar School north of
Marlin, and driving a horse and buggy from her parent's in Marlin to the
school, and then taught in schools at McClanahan, and subsequently in Lott.
While teaching in the Lott School, she met and married James Wimbish Williams,
Jr. (called "Wimbish"). Blanche did not return to teaching school after her
marriage until her youngest child reached the seventh grade. She then accepted a
position as a First Grade teacher in Marlin, and continued there until her
retirement. She returned to college in the later years of her life, attending
Sam Houston State University in the summers, and earned her B.A. degree at the
age of 62 years. After her retirement, Blanche continued to tutor pupils who
needed special help.
Wimbish and Blanche reared three of four children:

Elizabeth Williams, b April 12, 1920 in Marlin, Falls County,
Texas-married July 31,1943 in Marlin to Wilbur Lee Morris, b March 25, 1918.
They reside in Salado, Texas, and have two children: Brian Williams Morris, b
October 15, 1944 in Marlin - married June 13, 1970 in Waco, Texas to Arnell
Blain, b February 2, 1949 - daughter of Arnold Blain, of Waco, and has Michelle
Morris, b November 14, 1973, and Melissa Morris, b May 24, 1977; and Leah
Elizabeth Morris, b December 9, 1951 in Waco, Texas - married July 5, 1975 in
Waco to Jay Timothy Taggart, b December 6, 1949 - son of Hugh Taggart of Belton,
Texas, and has Michael Jay Taggart, b September 27, 1976, and Gregory Lee
Taggart, b June 5, 1979.
James Wimbish Williams, III, b November 13, 1922 in Marlin, Falls County,
Texas, d 1986 - married in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 14,1948 to Barbara
Louise Jalufka, b April 19, 1925- daughter of Judge Jerome and Jewell Jalufka,
of Violet, Texas. They had four children: James Wimbish Williams, IV, b March
12, 1951 at Corpus Christi, Texas - married August 23, 1975 in Crockett, Texas
to Peggy Sue Barney, b December 15, 1949 - daughter of Charles C. Barney, of
Crockett; John Cameron Williams, b January 14, 1953 at Corpus Christi, Texas -
married June 28,1975 at Violet, Texas to Claire Denis Barker, b December 8,
(year not known) - daughter of C. E. Barker, Jr., of Corpus Christi, Texas, and
have Erin Elizabeth Williams, b December 15, 1977; Stephen Norwood Williams, b
December 17, 1954 at Corpus Christi, Texas; and David Jalufka Williams, b May
16, 1959 at Corpus Christi, Texas.
Lewis Lanier Williams, b February 1, 1929 at Houston, Harris County,
Texas - married June 9, 1962 in Midland, Texas to Betty O'Gene Gill, b May 4,
1930 at San Angelo, Texas - daughter of Thomas Lafayette and Velma (Monroe)
Gill. They had John Norwood Williams, b January 17, 1965 in Fort Worth, Texas,
and Nancy Elizabeth Williams, b February 27, 1967 at Fort Worth, Texas.
