James David Williams was born November 27, 1854, east of the Falls on the Brazos River near where Reagan, Texas is today, died December 10, 1929, buried Powers Chapel Cemetery, Falls County, Texas-married December 22, 1879 in Falls County, Texas to Rhoda Ann Ellis b March 18, 1857 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina-daughter of Jonathan and Mary Elizabeth (Ritter) Ellis. In 1882 the family moved to Sevier County, Arkansas and in 1894 to Cheek, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory, Oklahoma. By January 1, 1906 the family lived in Falls County, near Rosebud, Texas. There are nine children:

Orange Durwood Williams b September 23, 1879 near Reagan, Texas, d April 3, 1954 Marlin, Texas-married October 9, 1901 at the Federal Courthouse, Ardmore, Indian Territory to Mrs. Margaret Catherine (Brown) Whitehouse, "Katie" b June 11, 1881, Indian Territory of Oklahoma d January 10, 1961 in Marlin, Texas. Both buried Powers Chapel Cemetery, Falls County, Texas.

James David Williams, Jr. b April 2, 1881 near Reagan, Texas, d 1960 in California-married in Muskogee, Indian Territory to Maude Ellen Brown b June 21, 1891 in Young County, Texas.

Minnie Lee Williams b September 13, 1886 in Sevier County, Arkansas, d February 14, 1959 in Falls County, Texas-married April 11, 1907 in Falls county, Texas to Albert Josiah "Joe E. " Hill b March 22, 1876, d February 5, 1940. Both buried Powers Chapel Cemetery, Falls County, Texas.

Mary Maude Williams b August 19, 1888 in Sevier County, Arkansas, d April 4, 1950 in Falls County, Texas-married 1909 in Falls county, Texas, Emily Brown b January 19, 1893 in Indian Territoy, Oklahoma.

Alice Ann Williams b February 1892 in Sevier county, Arkansas, d January 1, 1919 near Marquez, Texas-married Jeff Crocker.
