Ingram Rhodes Wiggins, b November 11, 1811 in Sampson County, North
Carolina, d December 11, 1865 in Falls County, Texas-was a son of
Willis and Fanny Wiggins. Ingram was married October 26, 1836 in
Wayne County, North Carolina, to Julia Elma Mariah Talton, b July
11, 1820 in North Carolina, d August 18, 1876 in Falls county,
Texas-a daughter of Jesse and Lydia Talton.
The couple moved to Perry County, Alabama after the birth and death of their
first child; and by 1841, they were in Smith County, Mississippi,
where they settled until ca 1860 when they moved to Falls County,
Texas. They were the parents of fourteen children:
Lewis Monroe Wiggins, b December 1837 in Wayne County, North Carolina, died
there in 1838.
Fanny Jane Wiggins, b May 11, 1939 in Petty County, Alabama, d June 24, 1915
in Falls County, Texas.
Willis Turner Wiggins, b Febdruary 20, 1841 in Smith County, Mississippi, d
December 30, 1939 and buried in Mooreville Cemetery-married ca 1867
to Sussan Martin, b June 30, 1844 in Louisiana, d 1939 and buried by
her husband-a daughter of Robert Washington and Elizabeth (Smart)
Martin. Two of their children were buried in the Mooreville
Cemetery: Robert Ingram Wiggins, b October 19, 1868, d March 6,
1871; and Willis K. Wiggins, b December 31, 1871, d July 11, 1891.
Clarissa Ann Wiggins, b February 11, 1843, d 1871 in Falls County,
Texas-married Feberuary 21, 1862 in Falls county to Tilman Busby, b
1838 in Alabama. Their two sons were: John Busby, b 1863, and
Charles Busby, b 1866.
Sarah Elizabeth Wiggins, b August 1844, d 1851.
Enoch Talton Wiggins, b March 30, 1846, d October 24, 1925-served in the
Confederate State Army, and was one of the organizers of the Old
Settlers and Veterans Association on July 4, 1908 at Tomlinson
Hill-married January 26, 1871 to Mary A. Martin, b July 29, 1853, d
August 30, 1924.
Aaron Blackman Wiggins, b January 26, 1848, d 1935.
Lydia Caroline Wiggins, b November 6, 1849.
Oliver Bascome Wiggins, b January 5, 1852, d January 27, 1925-married
December 30, 1880 to Sallie E. Long, b October 30, 1855, d February
17, 1891 and buried in Mooreville Cemetery. They had Lillian Avis
Wiggins, b October 39, 1882. Oliver was married second on November
19, 1893 to Stacey E. Lewallen, b February 22, 1872-a daughter of
Joseph W. Lewallen; and they had three children: Waymond Wayne
Wiggins, b September 21, 1894, d April 9, 1942 who married Linnie
Gertrude Rancher in 1924 and had Geraldine Wiggins, b April 30, 1925
who married August 25, 1945 to J.B. Youngblood and had James
Waymond, Jodie Eugene, Bobby Lynn, and Edwin Dean Youngblood. The
second child of Oliver B. and Stacey was Laura Lois Wiggins, b
December 23, 1895, d March 3, 1965. The third and last child of
Oliver B. and Stacey E. was Mary Elma Wiggins, b March 12, 1900.
Mary Mariah Wiggins, b July 24, 1854, d September 17, 1873.
Margaret Emily Wiggins, b September 9, 1856.
Giles Henderson Wiggins, b November 1858 in Mississippi, d July 10, 1868 in
Falls County, Texas.
George Henry Wiggins, b October 7, 1861 in Falls County, Texas, d May 7,
1863.
John Wesley Wiggins, b November 11, 1864, d November 24, 1864 in Falls
County.
The Wiggins family in the area of Cow Bayou near Mooreville spent many years
in Falls County, where they were active in church and public
affairs.
