ANDREW WILSON WRIGHT
Andrew
Wilson Wright, b March 11, 1916 in Lott - was a son of James Meredith and Lula
Lucretia (Ables) Wright. On August 21, 1940. Andrew married Velma Agnes
Christianson, moving to Temple, Texas where he was employed at the McCloskey
Government Hospital.
Andrew
grew up in Lott and attended Baylor University. He joined the U.S. Army during
World War II, and served with the 279th Engineering Battalion, going to the
European Theater of War on November 14, 1943. He served with his unit at
Normandy, building the bridge over the River Rhine, and was in the Battle of the
Bulge. After the war, he returned to Temple as a Builder and Contractor. The
family moved to Houston subsequently, where their only son, Roger Lewis Wright,
b July 24, 1942 in Temple, married Linda Jean Schilling.
