JOHN NICHOLAS TOMLINSON
John Nicholas Tomlinson, b January 1, 1850 in Conecuh County, Alabama, d
December 12, 1875 in Falls County, Texas and buried in Beulah Cemetery - was a
son of James Kendrick and Sarah Jerima (Stallworth) Tomlinson, who came to Falls
County with his family about 1858. John Nicholas grew up on the Tomlinson estate
near Deer Creek, where the family dealt in farming and livestock raising.
John Nicholas Tomlinson married Christian McPherson - a daughter of
William McPherson, b September 1, 1813, d February 13, 1882, and his wife, Mary
(Brogden) McPherson, b September 15, 1812, d September 13,
1871 - and both buried in Calvary Cemetery, also
from Alabama, who settled in Falls County, Texas.
John Nicholas and Christian Tomlinson had two daughters before his
untimely death:
Mary Tomlinson, b 1872, d 1957 in Marlin and buried in Calvary Cemetery

married R. K. Kinningham, b 1863, d 1917, and also buried in
Calvary Cemetery in Marlin. They had no children.
Sarah Tomlinson (called "Sallie"), b ca 1874 - married William Seymour,
and had five children:
Edwin Seymour, who married Betty Neander and had Sybil Seymour, and
Drucilla Seymour - who married Titus Carr Westbrook, Jr., and had no children.
They live in Marlin, where Titus is a CPA, and Drucilia worked for Southwestern
Electric Company.
Marian Seymour, who married Richard Graham, and had no children.
Frank Seymour, who married Doris Carter, and had a son, Frank Seymour,
Jr.
Evelyn Seymour, who married Howard Ramsey, and had Howard Ramsey, Jr.;
and Adair Ramsey.
Sarah Adair Seymour (called "Sallie"), b ca 1912, who married Thomas
Oltorf Hollowav and had one son.
