GROVER PINKNEY STUCKEY
Grover Pinkney Stuckey, b September 25, 1911 in
Hamilton County, Texas, d April 2, 1979 at the Veterans Hospital in Temple,
Texas and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott ‑ was the eleventh child of Rev
erend James Lewis Stuckey of Alabama, and his wife, Emma Jane (Brown) Stuckey of
Tennessee. Grover grew up in Lott, and was a graduate of Lott High School. His
family had lived in Hamilton County for three years prior to resettling in Lott.
On June 6, 1932 at the Methodist Parsonage in Lott,
Grover married lone Maurine Gibbs, b August 14, 1914 ‑ a daughter of John Morris
Gibbs, b October 14, 1880 in Rockdale, Milam County, Texas, d December 26, 1956
in Houston, Harris County, Texas and buried in Lott, and his wife, Pearl Lee
(Porter) Gibbs, b June 25, 1911 in Falls County, d December 28, 1968 in Houston,
and also buried in Lott in Clover Hill Cemetery.
Grover P. Stuckey was a carpenter by trade. In 1944, he was inducted in the U.S.
Army, during World War II, training in Colorado. After the end of the war, he
returned to Lott, where he and Ione lived in the formerly owned by his
parents. Grover and lone had two children:
Grover Kenneth Stuckey, b February 11, 1933 at Lott ‑
married September 11, 1952 in Harris County, Texas to Phyllis Ann Lunsford. They
had three children: Joy Kathleen Stuckey, who married first to Daniel Leon
Johnson and had Jeremy Arnold Johnson, and married second to Jesse Arnold;
Cheryl Jean Stuckey ‑married in Falls County on April 16, 1977 to Marty Capps,
and had Misti Ann Capps; and Kenneth Lloyd Stuckey ‑ who married on December 31,
1981 to Victoria Garcia and had Kenneth Robert Stuckey.
Gloria Jean Stuckey, b August 2, 1942 in Lott married on August 2, 1960 to
Donald Ray White, b September 7, 1941. They had three children: Nikki Rae White,
b June 28, 1967, d July 21, 1968 and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott;
Jill Leann White, b October 23, 1968; and Donna Jean White, b July 20,1971.

Maurine (Gibbs) Stuckey continues to reside in Lott, Falls County, Texas,
although her children are in the Houston Area.
