CHARLES DAVID STONE
Charles David
Stone, b December 12, 1891 in the Blevins Community of Falls County, Texas near
Eddy, d May 27, 1958 - was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Abner Stone of Eddy. Charles
David had four brothers, Herbert Stone, Edgar Stone - both now of Houston,
Texas, Earl Stone and Culbert Stone - both now of Port Arthur, Texas; and three
sisters, Bessie (Stone) Saurage, Mrs. Garvin Shotwell, and Mrs. Richard
Carraway.
Charles D. Stone
was married to Lella Bowers of Blevins. He was a farmer and rancher, a member of
the Methodist Church, a Mason, President of Eddy Cooperative Gin, served on the
Blevins School Board, and on the Farmers Administration Committee.
Charles and
Lella sent their children to college, where some were agriculture majors, and
serving as County Agents in different places:
Clois Stone, b
ca 1916 - was a graduate of Texas A&M University. He was County Agent in
Dickinson, Texas during the 1940's, later moving to Gatesville, where he is now
retired. He married Edith Peters, a native of Lott, Falls County Texas, who
taught school in Falls County - including Blue Ridge School. The names of their
children are not known.
Charles David
Stone II, lived in Fredricksburg, Texas.
Geneva Stone,
married the Falls County Agent, Robert M. Marshall - a son of Reverend Robert M.
Marshall - a Methodist, of Marlin. They lived in Marlin until 1953, where two
sons were born. At that time, Robert became associated with the King Ranch in
Kingsville, Texas.
Lena A. Stone -
married Glenn Rice Criswell of Marlin, Texas, and lives in Alburquerque, New
Mexico.
A daughter
Stone, married E. W. Haymon of Dayton, Ohio.
