WILLIAM HAMPSHIRE STEELE

     William Hampshire Steele (called "Hamp" and "Doc"), b August 13, 1916 in Stranger, Falls County, Texas-was a son of William John and Tempa Ophelia (Watson) Steele, Sr.
     On August 17, 1947 in Dallas, Texas, he was married to Kathryn Wilhelmine Stevenson, b May 13, 1923 in Dallas, Texas - a daughter of Frank Briscoe Stevenson, b January 31, 1896 in Caddo Mills, Texas, d October 1973 in Dallas, and his wife, Frieda Olga (Schaerdel) Stevenson, b March 30, 1898 in Dallas, Texas.
     Hampshire and Kathryn reside in Victoria, Texas. They had three children:
Karen Ophelia Steele, b October 14, 1948 in Victoria, Texas - married Tom L. Jones, b February 13, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri, and had Brett Steven Jones, b April 18, 1974 in Victoria. Karen and Tom were divorced on September 30, 1980.
     Frieda Kay Steele, b March 2, 1950 in Victoria, Texas - married there in April 1977 to James Brazeale, b January 30, 1949 in Ash Grove, Missouri. They have two children: Stephanie Lynn Brazeale, b October 3, 1978 in Columbus, Georgia; and Tara Elizabeth Brazeale, b February 10, 1982 in Woodbridge, Virginia.
     William Steven Steele, b October 9, 1951 in Victoria, Texas - married September 27, 1980 in Manasa, Virginia to Anne (Barbee) Cyr, b June 20, 1949 in Manasa, Virginia, who had a son, Richard Allen Cyr, b October 21, 1975, by a former marriage.
