THOMAS BURROUGHS STALLWORTH
Thomas Burroughs Stallworth, b October 22, 1876, d
1918 in the influenza epidemic ‑ was the seventh child of Francis Marion
Stallworth, and the first child of his second marriage to Rebecca Burroughs. In
1901, Thomas Burroughs Stallworth was married to Julia Alice Currie, b 1883, d
1962 at Lott, Falls County, Texas and buried in Calvary Cemetery ‑ a daughter of
David Mitchell and Ira A. lone (White) Currie of Durango.
The couple made their in Lott, where Julia lived
for many years after her husband died. They were members of the First
Presbyterian Church in Lott, and were the parents of three children:
David Currie Stallworth, b September 6, 1903, is a
graduate of The University of Texas, Austin, who married August 8, 1931 to
Marguerite Baugh. They moved to Houston Texas, where he owns and manages a
design engineering firm.
Harry Gordon Stallworth, b May 13, 1905 ‑ married
August 20, 1932 to Katie Blanche Masters, and lived at Lott, Texas. He has
cattle and farming interests, and also works for Southwestern Bell Telephone
Company.
Mary Louise Stallworth, b January 29, 1907 - married
August 31, 1931 to Zenas Wilson Bartlett, Jr., b March 22, 1892, d December 28, 1953 and
buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin. He was employed at the Freeport Sulphur
Company. They had Mary Caroline Bartlett, b April 17, 1934 in Freeport, who
married on June 8, 1957 to Constantine George Demmas of St. Louis, Missouri ‑ a
Lieutenant in the Army Intelligence Corps; and Julia Currie Bartlett, b.
January 18, 1940 at Freeport.
