THOMAS BENJAMIN SPROTT, II
Thomas Benjamin Sprott, II, b September 27, 1918 in
Falls County, Texas, d December 3, 1982 in Marlin, Texas and buried in Stranger
Cemetery in Falls County ‑ was a son of Thomas Benjamin and Estelle (Dickens)
Sprott. On April 28, 1942 in Falls County, Tom married Betty Jean Erskine, b
August 19, 1923 in Stranger ‑ a daughter of Carl Cavitt and Mary Theresa
(Harlan) Erskine ‑both natives of Falls County.
Tom was a Marlin City Policeman for many years, and
then was a representative for a Vending Machine Company. Betty received her
training as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and continues to work as a L.V.N. in
the office of a Marlin Physician. She is a member of Eastern Star, First
Presbyterian Church of Marlin, and Marlin Civic Club.
Tom and Betty had three children:
Barbara Ann Sprott, b August 1, 1947 in Marlin
married December 27, 1969 to Milton W. Caudle, III, who is in the U.S. Air
Force. They have two sons: Christopher Matthew Caudle, b January 13, 1974, and
William Andrew Caudle, b April 1, 1978, who were both christened in the First
Presbyterian Church in Marlin.
John Milton Sprott, b October 6, 1948 in Marlin works
in Houston, Texas, where he resides. He is not married.
Thomas Benjamin Sprott, III, b September 23, 1950 in
Marlin ‑ married December 27, 1976 to Vanessa Bennett, b October 11, 1952, and
have one daughter, Tamsyn Danielle Sprott, b November 10, 1982. They reside in
Longview, Texas.
Betty Jean (Erskine) Sprott continues to reside in
Marlin, Texas.
