FLETCHER LANGSTON SPRINGFIELD

 

 

 

Fletcher Langston Springfield, b June 8, 1870 in Robertson County, Texas, d October 12, 1930 in Falls County and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin was the youngest of seven known children of Andrew Jackson Springfield, b 1822 in South Carolina, d before 1910 at Hearne, Robertson County, Texas, and his wife, Martha Ann (Baker) Springfield, b ca 1838 in Alabama, d after 1910 at Hearne. Fletcher's siblings

were: Mary E. Springfield, b 1856 in Mississippi; D. B. Springfield, b 1857 in Mississippi; Lara Springfield, b 1863 in Texas; Martha A. Springfield, b 1865 in Texas; a sister, D. L. Springfield, b 1867 in Texas; and a sister, A. V. Springfield, b 1869 in Texas.

Fletcher Langston Springfield married ca 1896 in Robertson County, Texas to Alice Drucilla McDonald, b December 15, 1868 in Meridian, Mississippi, d July 24, 1953 in Marlin and buried in Calvary Cemetery a daughter of M. C. McDonald.

Fletcher L. and "Alice" had seven children when they moved to Falls County, Texas ‑ settling near the Taylor's Chapel Community, where Fletcher farmed. Their children were:

Chester Parker Springfield, b October 23, 1897 who married Louella (called "Elli") Mosley at Rosebud, Texas.

Victor B. Springfield, b ca 1899 ‑ no further information.

Marian Springfield, b April 1, 1900 in Robertson County, Texas, d January 3, 1953 in Marlin ‑ who married Christopher Columbus Parsons.

Cecil Roy Springfield, b 1903 ‑ no further information.

Mozelle Springfield, b 1905 in Robertson County who married Wallace Dunkin, and resides in Waco, Texas.

Rosena E. Springfield, b 1908 in Robertson County, Texas who married Clyde Broome of Rosebud, Texas and had Kenneth Broome, b 1934, d 1960 in a car wreck; Earline Broome; Bonnie Broome; and Wanda Broome.

Frances Springfield, b ca 1910 who married October 6, 1928 to Fred R. Collier of Lott, Texas, and had three children.
