BOISCLAIR R. SHELTON
Boisclair R. Shelton, b May 23, 1884 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, d in 1952 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin - was a son of Judge William and Anna May (Riddick) Shelton, natives of Alabama and Tennessee, respectively, who emigrated to Marlin, Falls County, Texas in 1870.
Boisclair graduated from the Marlin Public Schools in 1903, and he was one of the young Falls County men who served in the U.S. Army during World War I.
In 1918, Boisclair R. Shelton was married to Leila Layne, b 1893, d 1975, and buried by her husband in Calvary Cemetery.
Boisclair Shelton (called "Mr. Bo") was a Pharmacist by profession. He and Leila were members of the Methodist Church, and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge. From 1936 to 1949, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Marlin Public Schools having a keen interest in the education and welfare of children, as had his father before him.
Boisclair R. and Leila (Layne) Shelton were the parents of three children, all born in Marlin, Falls County, Texas:
William Earl Shelton, b April 29, 1921- married Jacqueline Briggs, b 1925 at McClanahan, Falls County, Texas.
Jack Shelton - graduated from Marlin High School in the Class of 1941. He married Ann Abernathy, of Arkansas, and they have a son, Sam Shelton. Jack and Ann reside in Houston, Texas.
Lillian Shelton -who married William Walton, of Marlin, and had four children: Bill Walton, Jack Walton, Tom Walton, and Beth Walton. No further information.
