WEDDING INVITATION OF CONSTANCE HARLAN AND DR. FRANK HAWTHORN SHAW


     Dr. Frank Hawthorn Shaw, b October 28, 1884 in Falls County, Texas, d January 16, 1971 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas and buried in Calvary Cemetery there -- was a son of Dr. John C. and Nancy (Sypert) Shaw. In June, 1910 in Marlin, Texas, Frank was married to Constance Harlan, b October 21, 1887 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, d February 11, 1978 and buried by her husband in Calvary Cemetery -- a daughter of Zill Isaiah and Maude (Graves) Harlan. Zill Isaiah Harlan -- a prominent lawyer in Marlin -- was a son of George Harlan, b February 2, 1835 in The Republic of Texas -- son of Dr. Isaiah and Nancy (Henry) Harlan, who married South Carolina, moved to Parke County, Indiana, and subsequently to Texas in the Fall of 1834, where he received a Mexican Land Grant for a league of land at Viesca (present day Falls County), in Sterling Clack Robertson's Colony. Zill Isaiah Harlan's maternal grandparents were Zill H. and Mary (Martin) McCaleb, who came from Tennessee to The Republic of Texas prior to 1840, settling in what became Montgomery County, Texas with both dying in Falls County, Texas, and buried in Blue Ridge Cemetery at Blue Ridge.
     Dr. Frank H. Shaw served during World War I as a Captain in the U. S. Army. He located his medical practice in Marlin, and remained here throughout his life.
     Frank and Constance Shaw were the parents of four children -- all born in Marlin, Falls County, Texas:
     Frank Hawthorn Shaw, Jr., b December 18, 1911, d April 30, 1968.
     Thad G. Shaw, b July 27, 1913, resides in Marlin, Texas -- married August 18, 1936 to Velma Francis.
     Mary Shaw, b April 10, 1915 -- married November 11, 1937 to Paul Windsor.
     Zill Shaw, b August 10, 1917, d January 24, 1940
