HENRY HERMAN SCHRADER
Henry Herman
Schrader (name changed from "Schroeder"), b November 18, 1859, d September 25,
1910 - killed by a passenger train in Marlin, Falls County, Texas -was a son of
Christopher and Marie Schroeder of Germany. On October 26, 1888 in McLennan
County, Texas, Henry married to Alvina (originally spelled Alwina) Guderian, b
April 2, 1867 in Germany, d January 16, 1941 at Cottonwood and buried in Calvary
Cemetery in Marlin, Texas by her husband - a daughter of Ludwig and Annie
(Dresner) Guderian.
Henry and Alvina
lived at Cottonwood, and also near Marlin, where he was a farmer. They had nine
children:
Annie Schrader,
b October 24, 1889 in Falls County, Texas, d September 4, 1981married July 13,
1918 to Emil Reinhold Polley.
William Charles
Schrader, b January 4, 1891, d November 19, 1975 - married December 23, 1918 to
Cora Lee Scott.
Guss Alfred
Schrader, b December 12, 1893, d June 10, 1956 - married December 23, 1922 to
Ada Elizabeth Scott.
Malinda
Schrader, b October 26, 1895, d October 22, 1985 - married Otto Oscar Braun on
April 23, 1919.
Henry Herman
Schrader, Jr., b March 21, 1898, d June 2, 1955 - married January 2, 1926 to
Hattie Kathryn Radle.
Robert Schrader,
b November 14, 1900, d August 31, 1945 - married June 12, 1938 to Geny LaBlanc.
Rudolph L.
Schrader, b August 13, 1903 - married December 24, 1928 to Lela Virginia Gaylor.
Sophia S.
Schrader, b November 5, 1905 d August 15, 1986 - married June 20, 1928 to Edwin
Fredrich.
Arthur O.
Schrader, b December 25, 1907, d March 11, 1982 - married December 11, 1929 to
Mary Elizabeth Krenz, b March 30, 1907, d November 12, 1986.
After Henry's
fatal accident, Alvina lived with her children in Cottonwood, who buried her by
her husband when she died.
