AARON RUBLE
Aaron Ruble, b ca 1823 in Ohio, d 1865 at
Round Top, Texas - was a nephew of Fielden Ruble, and grandson of Jesse Ruble.
About 1845, Aaron was married to Sarah Smalley, b January 26, 1824 in Illinois,
d September 5, 1872 and buried in Mooreville Cemetery in Falls County, Texas - a
daughter of J. G. Smalley.
Aaron and Sarah came to Texas soon after
their marriage - settling in Bastrop County. He was assaulted and killed after
the Civil War, by stragglers from the war. After his death, Sarah brought her
family of seven children, along with her brother, William Smalley, to Falls
County, Texas, where Aaron's uncle, Fielden Ruble, had lived since 1855. Her
youngest daughter was only seven years old when Sarah died. The descendants of
Aaron and Sarah (Smalley) Ruble have lived in Falls County for about 120 years,
and in Lott, Texas since the organization of the town. The seven children of
Aaron and Sarah were:
Montgomery Ruble, b ca 1846 in Texas - moved away.
Jesse Glouchester Ruble, b January 29, 1849 in Texas, d May 23, 1923 at Lott and
buried in Clover Hill Cemetery - married ca 1874 to Tennessee Allen, b January
10, 1852, d October 30, 1903, and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott.
William Ruble, b 1850 in Texas - moved away.
Mary Ruble, b 1856 - no information.
Sarah Carmencita Ruble, b 1858 in Texas -
married first to John Taylor Bowman; married second to unknown; and married
third to Reverend Isaac Taylor, being his third wife. She had no children.
James Ruble, b 1862 in Texas - no
information.
Sabra Ruble, b 1865 in Texas – no
information.
