HARRY FOSTER ROGERS
Harry Foster Rogers, b June 22, 1926 - a son of Clarence Edward Rogers, b
1875, d 1952, and his wife, Barbara Isabelle (Crinchley) Rogers of Pittsburg,
Pennsylvnia. His paternal grandparents were Alfred and Henry Rogers (1852-1932)
of Worcester shire, Eng- land, who emigrated to America in 1869.
On Easter Sunday, in the George Woodland
in Marlin, Texas, April 6, 1958, Harry married Alma Lavonne Pratt (called
"Lavonne"), b October 10, 1935 -the only child of Kit Carson and Clarac Alma
(Woodland) Pratt.
Harry and Lavonne lived on military bases during his career in the U.S.
Air Force. He retired in 1967 with twenty-three years' service. Lavonne taught
school in California, Germany, Libya, Marlin, and Austin. They presently reside
in the Austin Area, where Harry has just completed a term as Mayor of
Rollingwood, Texas - an Austin Suburb - where he has been active in city
affairs, and works for the State Comptroller of Public Accounts. Lavonne has
taught private art classes, and her main love is landscape oil painting. Harry
and Lavonne Rogers have three daughters:
Roshay Lavonne Rogers, b June 14, 1960 - a 1983 graduate of The
University of Texas, with an Art - education degree.
Roseanne Dawn Rogers, b March 24, 1962 - married a Mr. Stedman; is a 1984
graduate of The University of Texas, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Rosemary Faith Rogers, b December 23, 1963, received her degree in
Finance in 1985 from The University of Texas.
The Rogers family still maintains their Marlin
- which was orginally her maternal grandfather's (George Woodland),
and she retains her Falls
County,
Texas
property.
