WILLIAM ARCHER PRICE, JR
William Archer Price, Jr. (called "Bill"), b October 18, 1914 in the
Price family at Stranger, Falls County, Texas-was a son of William Archer
and Lula A. (Hughey) Price. He attended school at Stranger, graduating from
Marlin High School in Marlin, Texas. On July 26,1934, Bill married first to
Lorene Eugenia Barganier, b August 27, 1916-a daughter of Clarence Eugene ("Mr.
Genie") and Mittie Leona (Watkins) Barganier, who resided in the Cedar Springs
Community of Falls County. Bill and Lorene were the parents of four children:
William Eugene Price ("Bill"), b February 5, 1936. He married on June 27, 1958
in San Diego, California to Mildred Anne Carhart, b September 13, 1933, and they
have three children:
William Eugene Price, Jr. ("Bill"). b January 24, 1960 who married
October 2, 1982 in Oxford, Ohio to Loni Reusch - both Bill and Lonie graduating
from Miami University in Oxford, with Bill majoring in Physics Engineering and
Loni in Film and Communications; Frederick Carroll Price, b September 14, 1961,
who attended Ohio State University; and Randall Barganier Price, b August 20,
1965, who is enrolled in the Arizona State University and majoring in Marketing.
James Earl Price, b July 3, 1939 - married in Marlin, Texas on July 6,
1963 to Frances Ann Willars, b August 11, 1939. James received a Law Degree from
Baylor University, and has his law practice in Dallas, Texas. His wife is also a
graduate of Baylor University, receiving her Master of Liberal Arts at SMU. They
have one daughter, Paris Ann, b January 9,1965, who is attending Baylor
University. Paris was married on August 29, 1986 to David Bahcall in Irving,
Texas.
Virginia Elizabeth Price, b January 23, 1943- married John Roger Edens in
Marlin, Texas on August 28, 1965. Virginia and John are both graduates of Baylor
University, and they have two children: Roger Pennington Edens, b August 24,
1968, and Brent Dylan Edens, b May 12, 1971.
Mary Ann Price, b January 12, 1945 - married in Marlin,
Texas on April 30, 1966 to Carey F. Sharp, b April 27, 1944. Mary Ann is a
graduate of Baylor University, and Carey graduated from General Motor Institute
in Flint, Michigan. Carey was with Wings AFB, Enid, Oklahoma and served two
years in Vietnam. They have two children: Collin Frasier, b August 23, 1971, and
Erin Colby Sharp, b October 2, 1972. Mary Ann (Price) Sharp married second to
Fred Harnish.
On February 23, 1954 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, William Archer
Price, Jr. ("Bill") married secondly to Mary Constance Hunnicutt, b July 12,
1928 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas - a daughter of William Wesley and
Sybil Mae (Finley) Hunnicutt, Jr. Bill and Mary have four sons:
Philip Wesley, b November 19, 1959 - married in Marlin, Texas on January
28, 1984 - to Maren (Glover) Williams, b August 23, 1952. Phil received a degree
in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
George Steven ("Steve"), b June 28, 1961 - received a certification in
Electronics and Computer Technology from Texas State Technological Institute in
Waco, Texas. He is not married.
Bryson Hughey, b November 2,1962 - received a degree in
Business Finance from Texas A&M University, where he was a Ross Volunteer and
Commander of Squadron 16 of the Air Force Branch of the ROTC Program in the Corp
of Cadets. He was selected "Out- standing Commanding Officer" for 1985. He is
not married.
Howard Boyd, b July 16, 1964 - married at Bryan, Brazos County, Texas on
August 12, 1983 to Paula Denise Ng, b March 29, 1964 in Hong Kong. Howard
received a degree in Civil Engineering in December 1985 from Texas A&M
University and Paula will also be receiving her degree in Civil Engineering.
They have two children: Jeanie Jade, b November 11, 1984 and Howard Boyd Jr., b
January 19, 1986, Both born in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas.
Bill and Mary have reared their sons in the old Price at Stranger in
Falls County, Texas. They are members of St. John's Episcopal Church in Marlin,
where Bill has served as Treasurer, Vestryman, and Lay Reader. Bill is a rancher
and a real estate broker. He and Mary own Price Realtors - a Real Estate Firm in
Marlin and they previously owned Guaranty Abstract Company in Marlin. Mary is an
abstracter, real estate broker and a certified real estate appraiser. She is
currently serving on the Vestry of St. John's Episcopal Church and is Clerk of
the Vestry. She is a Past President of Falls County Historical Commission, was
Secretary-Treasurer of the Old Settlers and Veterans Association, and a Charter
Member and Secretary of the Palace Theatre Centre. Presently, she is president
of the Marlin Art League and serves on the Falls County Program Building
Executive Committee and is Chairman of the Falls County Economics
Committee. She is also a member of O.E.S. Marlin Chapter #286 and The National
Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
On October 14,1974 the William Archer Price, Jr. family was honored
during the State Fair in Dallas by placement in the Texas Department of
Agriculture's first Family Land Heritage Registry - an honor granted only to
families who have held their land continuously as a family operation for
agricultural production for 100 years or more.
