WILLIAM T. PHARIS
William T. Pharis, b ca 1885, d 1955 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in
Marlin, Falls County, Texas- was a son of Lemuel and Ellen Pharis, who died in
New Mexico. After the death of his parents, William came to Falls County, Texas,
to the Otto Community, where some relatives lived.
On November 1,1906, William T. Pharis was married to Lola Eugenia Goode,
b 1888, d 1976 in Marlin, and buried in Calvary Cemetery by her husband - a
daughter of Richard and Emma Goode, who came to Texas from Mississippi, by
train, in the 1890's.
William and Lola went to New Mexico to home- stead, and it was there that
some of their six children were born. They later returned to the Otto Community
in Falls County, to live. Their children included five sons and one daughter.
One of their sons was Robert Lee Pharis, b ca 1918 in New Mexico - who
married December 29, 1940 in Falls County, Texas to Lottie Loraine Briggs, b ca
1918 - a daughter of Clayton Marshall and Etta Mae (Saxon) Briggs. Robert and
Lottie had two children: Susanne Pharis, and Mary Kay Pharis - both graduates of
Marlin High School.
