LUTHER GETSON PARKS
Luther Getson Parks, b February 14, 1875 in Falls County, Texas, d there
on November 7,1930 and buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery - was a son of George
Washington and Caroline Tabitha (Motlow) Parks who settled in Falls County
between present-day Rosebud and the Pleasant Grove Area. In 1919 in Oklahoma,
Luther married Mrs. Edna May (Stokes) Crow, b May 6, 1892, d April 25, 1957 and
buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery.
Luther and Edna had one son:
Luther LaVerne Parks, b July 24, 1923 in
Falls County, Texas - married May 27, 1944 in Deming, New Mexico while serving
in the military during World War II, to Laura Lane King, b October 9, 1925 in
Falls County, Texas - a daughter of Joseph Ernest and Jessie Mae (Tindle) King
of Rosebud. Luther and Laura had two daughters: Jo-Carol Parks, b August 31,
1946 who married Lloyd Fabianke and has Jason Parks Fabianke, b December 15,
1974, and Leigh Ann Fabianke, b August 21, 1979; and Kathy King Parks, b March
26, 1954 who married John Mullikin. Luther has been a long-time employee of the
Belfalls Co-op Electric Service Company in Rosebud.
After the death of Luther Getson Parks in 1930, Edna May (Stokes) Crow
Parks married third to William G. Bishop.
