ELISHA MOORE

Elisha Moore, b ca 1825 Alabama, d ca 1867 in Falls Co., married ca 1848 Mary (Mollie) Wilson, b ca 1831 Alabama, d unknown. The couple were living in Florida when at least one of their children was born. In the 1850's, they immigrated to the northern part of East Texas where they lived until after the Civil War. It is not known how many children they had, but there were six in the household on the 1870 census with Mollie listed as head of the household.

After Elisha's death, Mollie was married on November 18, 1868 in Falls Co. to Jefferson T. Chandler, and they had one son. It is presumed that Chandler died by 1871 when the census was actually taken.

The children of Elisha and Mollie that are known were:

David Moore, b ca 1850 in Florida; Mary Moore, b ca 1856 Texas; Margaret (Maggie) Moore, b May 26, 1857 Wood County, Texas, married William M. Moore; Clara Moore, b ca 1860, Texas; Susan Moore, b ca 1863, Texas; and John Moore, b ca 1865. Texas.

By her marriage to Jefferson T. Chandler, Mollie had:

Lee Adrian Chandler, b January 17, 1870 who married first Josie V. Masters and married second Sarah Busby.
