JOHNNY CHRISTOPHER MOELLER, JR.

 

Johnny Christopher Moeller, Jr., b March 10, 1938 in Falls County, Texas near Westphalia ‑was a son of Johnny Christopher and Dora Elizabeth (Hoelscher) Moeller. He was reared near the Westphalia Commu­nity, on the family farm ‑ residing in the built ca 1891 by his grandparents, John and Pauline Moeller.

Johnny, Jr. attended school in Westphalia, and graduated from Rosebud High School, Class of 1958­subsequently attending Temple Junior College for two years, and Nixon‑Clay Commercial College in Austin, with additional special courses at The University of Texas, Austin. For about five years, he was Buyer for a Truck and Heavy Equipment Company, but continued to reside in Falls County during this time. As a young man, he had farmed with his father on the family land, and he continued farming as a side‑line for a time.

On March 10, 1983, Johnny was appointed Falls County Auditor, for a two‑year term of office, by Dis­trict Judge Thomas B. Bartlett; and he continues in that position in 1986 ‑ having been reappointed in 1985.

He is a member of The Church of the Visitation in Westphalia, and now has the family farm leased out. He enjoys the avocation of metal work and welding, and made the three beautiful flag poles now gracing the lawn of the Falls County Courthouse, on which fly the U.S., Texas, and Falls County Flags. He resides with his widowed mother on the farm, in the built by his paternal grandparents.
