     Alamander Ervin LINDER was born on the west fork of the Cumberland River, Overton Co, TN on 23 December 1823 to Joseph Linder and Nancy Christian.  On March 7, 1840, Alamander Ervin arrived in Nacogdoches Co, Tx, with his grandfather, John CHRISTIAN.  Said to have been orphaned before his time-Alamander came to Texas from the Christian family in Kentucky. His great-grandfather was a John Christian: Kentucky Pioneer for whom a county in the Blue Grass State was named.

     Alamander married Nancy WESTFALL on the  23 May 1844 in Sabine Co, LA, she was the daughter of Samuel WESTFALL and Nancy SLAUGHTER.  Nancy was born on 09 March 1829 and died 10 December 1909 in Rosebud, Falls Co, Tx.

     Either in 1852 or 1853 Alamander settled in Bastrop County, Texas.  For three years he served in the Confederate Army in Company E, Duff's Regiment, 33rd Texas Mounted Infantry.  Some reports indicated he lived in Bastrop Co. continuously for 45 years, but the 1880 census places him and Nancy in adjacent Williamson Co, Tx.

     Alamander and Nancy were parents of nine children:

     Samual Graves- b. 28 June 1848
     Mary Jane- b. 24 Apr 1849
     Joseph Jefferson- b. 06 June 1851
     Susanna Melvina Ann- b. 22 Apr 1853
     Catherine- b. 12 Feb 1855
     Sarah Elizabeth- b. 27 Mar 1857
     Louisa- b. 30 Oct 1859
     James Madison- b. 18 Dec 1861

     Alamander died at Rosebud, Falls Co, Tx, on 02 November 1921.  Both he and Nancy are buried at Cedar Springs, Falls Co, Tx.
