JAMES WILLIAM KIRKPATRICK
James William Kirkpatrick, b August 26, 1852 in Alabama, d October 10,
1916 and buried in Covington Cemetery near Reagan, Falls County, Texas - married
Daisy Mae Shaunfield (called "Mae"), b May 29, 1876, d August 5, 1952 and buried
by her husband in Covington Cemetery. They were the parents of seven children:
Charles Clifton Kirkpatrick, b ca 1900, died and was buried in Powers
Chapel Cemetery in West Falls County, Texas - married Vera Cotton. Their son,
Charles Clifton Kirkpatrick, Jr., was a graduate of Reagan High School, and
enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 - serving in Africa, Italy, and France. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, and three Battle Stars.
Louis Pinkney Kirkpatrick, M.D., b ca 1902, graduated from Reagan High
School and The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he
received his medical degree. In 1942, Dr. Kirkpatrick enlisted in the U.S. Navy
Medical Corps, where he served in induction centers at San Antonio, Abilene, and
Dallas - achieving the rank of Commander during his service on Guadalcanal,
Guam, Saipan, and Leyte, during World War II. He married Winnie Sikes, and
established his medical practice at Commerce after the war, where he continues
to reside.
Lillian Kirkpatrick, b ca 1904 - married Frank Ocker,
and lives in Rosebud, Falls County, Texas.
Hugh Kirkpatrick, b September 18, 1906, d August 20, 1985 at Reagan,
Falls County, Texas and buried in Waite Cemetery there - married October 29,
1932 to Essie Johnson - daughter of Emory and Georgia (Jackson) Johnson of
Bremond, Robertson County, Texas. They were the parents of five children: Robert
Weldon Kirkpatrick, b April 13, 1934, who married Edith (maiden name unknown),
and resides in Houston, Texas; Billy Hugh Kirkpatrick, b July 31, 1936, who
married Helga Back, born in Germany; Betty Jane Kirkpatrick, b November 3,1937,
who married Grant Mackey of New Jersey; Jack Thomas Kirkpatrick, b February 3,
1944, who married Jacquelyn Evorcek of West, Texas and Linda Kirkpatrick, b
March 10, 1955, who is unmarried and resides with her mother in Reagan, Texas.
Leah Kirkpatrick, b ca 1910, died in Louisiana -
married a Mr. Roach. No further information.
Zeb Burke Kirkpatrick, b ca 1912, graduated from Reagan High School and
The University of Houston. In December 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army during
World War II - training at Camp Haan and Camp Irwin. He was a Technical
Sergeant, serving in France, Belgium, and Germany. He married a lady from
France, and resides in Houston, Texas.
Jimmie Kirkpatrick - the youngest daughter, b ca 1914, died in Houston.
She was never married.
