R. W. KING

 

 

     R. W. King, b April 6, 1853 in Huntsville, Alabama, d June 18, 1943 in Falls County, Texas and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott - married in Alabama on October 22, 1879 to Mary Campbell, b in Alabama, d August 18, 1908 and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery.

     R. W. and Mary came to Falls County with several  their children in 1890 settling in the Lott area.  Mr. King was a carpenter, who helped build the Lott School, the Railway Depot, and the First Methodist Church in Lott - still in use in 1986.

 

     R. W. and Mary (Campbell) King were the parents of seven children:

 

     John King, b October 1, 1880 in Alabama, d September 16, 1969 - married Georgia Peters, b January 1,1910, d 1980. They had John King, Jr.

 

     Wade King, b February 25, 1883 in Alabama, d October 1957 - married Ethel Jones, and had Robert Wade King.

 

     Lynn King, b March 2, 1885 in Alabama, d June 22, 1969 and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott- married September 24, 1911 to William J. Rushing, and had three children.

 

     Ellen King, b October 27, 1886 in Alabama, d January 1970 - married May 14, 1912 to George Harper. They had three children: Georgia Elizabeth Harper, Sam Bob Harper, and King Harper.

 

     Frances King (called "Fannie"), b February 16, 1889 in Alabama, d November 1977 - married January 1913 to Forrest Maxwell. They had Elnora Maxwell, George Robert Maxwell, Pauline Maxwell, Marie Winnie Maxwell, Betty Jane Maxwell, and Ted Maxwell.

     Anne King, b March 30, 1893 - married July 8, 1922 to Arthur O. White, who died in 1960 and was buried in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.

 

     Sarah King (called "Sally"), b May 11, 1895 in Lott - married October 25, 1916 to Earl Adkins who died in October 1979 and was buried in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott. They had Earl Adkins, Jr., b 1941, and Eugene Adkins, b 1945.

 

     After the death of Mary (Campbell) King, R. W. King was married to Fannie Mae (Campbell) Logan, b May 20, 1869 in Alabama, d September 1958, and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.
