JAMES CAMPBELL KING
James Campbell King - the seventh of nine children of William R. and
Elizabeth (Bowman) King, who were married in 1851 at Boonville, Brazos County,
Texas - married September 12, 1892 to Luella Bruenhan - daughter of William
Patrick and Kezziah "Kate" Murphy) Brusenhan who settled in Falls :ounty, Texas
in the late 1870's. William R. King came to Texas from Alabama in 1839, settled
at Boonville near Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, where he married in 1851 to
Elizabeth Bowman, and had nine children: Sarah King, Thomas King, Mary Elizabeth
King, Villiam H. King, Richard Rufus King, John Franking, James Campbell King, Clay Cobb King, and
Joeph B. King. The King family were living near Mooeville, Falls County, Texas
by the 1880's.
James Campbell and Luella (Brusenhan) King
lived on a farm near Chilton in Falls County, and it was here that five children
were born:
Arthur Lee King, b 1893; Mamie King, b 1895 Willie King, b 1897; Essie
King, b 1899, d 1900 in the epidemic and buried in Mooreville Cemetery; and
:lyde King, b 1901. The James Campbell King family farmed in this area until
1904, when they moved to Rockwood, Coleman County, Texas
