I know that the book, Families of Falls County, is reliable and likely enjoys considerable supporting documentation.

I believe it is important to point out that the reference to Winfield Scott Hunnicutt's father, William Hunnicutt, may contain an error.

In the 1850 Census for Giles County Tennessee, District 1, page 450, household number 615, family number 615, William Honeycut (Hunnicutt), at age 60, reports he is a Weaver, with $4000 value of real estate, and his place of birth as North Carolina and not Virginia as stated in this bio and in the Families of Falls County.

Those who are interested will also find this entry in the 1850 Census for Giles County also lists:

Joanna Honeycut, William's wife, at age 59, reported as born in Virginia.

Wesley W. Honeycut, William's youngest son (Wesley White Hunnicutt), age 17, reported as born in Tennessee.

Elizabeth Honeycut, William's mother, at age 86, reported as born in Virginia.

Winfield S. Honeycut, the Winfield Scott Hunnicutt of this bio, at age 22, a Farmer, born in Tennessee.

Lucinda Honeycut, Winfield's wife (Lucinda Smith Hunnicutt), at age 18, born in Tennessee.

Emily A. Honeycut, Winfield's oldest daughter (listed in the Families of Falls County as Agatha Emily Hunnicutt), at age 1, born in Tennessee.

Martha S. (or A.) Honeycut, Winfield's second daughter (listed in the Families of Falls County as Martha Ann Hunnicutt), at age 5 months, born in Tennessee.

This 1850 Census for Giles County very likely caught the Winfield Scott Hunnicutt's just prior to their departure for Falls County Texas.
