GEORGE OTTIS HOWARD
George
Ottis Howard, b May 5, 1902 in Laurel, Mississippi, d August 1, 1971 in Temple,
Texas, married August 17, 1930 in Falls County, Texas to Cordia Victoria Bryan,
b January 18, 1904 in Marlin - a daughter of Peyton James and Ella Victoria
(Binnicker) Bryan.
George
was the flooring contractor for Hickam Field in Honolulu, Hawaii prior to World
War II.
Cordia
Victoria was 1923 "May Queen" of Marlin High School. She became personal
secretary to Dr. and Mrs. A. J. Armstrong at Baylor University from April 1926
to August 1930 - traveling with them to Europe to do Browning Research.
George
Ottis and Cordia Victoria (Bryan) Howard had two children: Georgine Myree
Howard, b June 1, 1931 in Dallas - who married first to a Mr. Watton, and second
to a Mr. McGowan; and Milton Bryan Howard. b November 3, 1934 in Marlin.
