WILLIAM BEAUREGARD HAGENS
William Beauregard Hagens, b November 26, 1822 in Montgomery County,
Alabama, d June 13, 1891 and buried in Covington Cemetery at Reagan, Falls
County, Texas - a son of Thomas C. Hagens - married ca 1852 in Alabama or Upshur
County, Texas to Elvira Ann Moseley, b January 18, 1829 in Alabama, d January
19, 1896 at Reagan, Texas - a daughter of Mason Moseley (1805-1870) and Levinia
Mildred Sheppard (1810-1848) of Alabama.
William B. and Elvira Hagens came to Upshur County, Texas where six of
their children were born, and about 1868, they moved to Falls County with
several families that had also been in Upshur County - the Andersons and the
Shepperds among these.
William Beauregard and Elvira (Moseley) Hagens had nine children:
Mason Moseley, b February 7, 1853 in Upshur County, Texas, d January 4,
1931, married Sallie McCoy.
Thomas Cogsdell, b in June 1855 in Upshur County, Texas, married Clara
Newberry.
Eliza Jane, b February 2,1857 in Upshur County, Texas, d February 24,
1886, married Eugene Wyche, b June 27,1847, d June 20,1880.
Eugenia Hasseltine, b January 25,1860 in Upshur County, Texas, d February
26, 1937, married Reuben Price, b October 30, 1850, d February 5, 1912.
William Beauregard, Jr., b in October 1861 in Upshur County, Texas, d
August 3, 1889, married Annie Snell.
Louisa Ann ("Hudie"), b May 11, 1866 in Falls County, Texas, died March
8, 1889, was the first wife of Robert Snell McCoy.
Annie, b May 14, 1870 in Falls County, Texas, died June 9, 1956, was the
second wife of Robert Snell McCoy.
Eli A., b June 18, 1873 in Falls County, Texas, died in 1874.
Mary, b April 26, 1875 in Falls County, Texas, died in 1875.
William Beauregard Hagens enlisted in the Confederate States Army in
Gilmer, Texas as a Private in Company B, 10th Calvary, Ectors Brigade of the
Trans-Mississippi Army. He was a farmer throughout his life.
