JAMES WILLIAM GLOCKZIN

 

     James William Glockzin, b August 30, 1933 in Falls County, Texas - was a son of Walter A. and Lillie (Quandt) Glockzin. On June 25, 1955 in Marlin, Texas, James married Lucy Ann Adams, b March 27, 1935 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas - a daughter of Johnnie Barnes and Lucille (Byars) Adams.

     James graduated from Marlin High School, and received his B.S. degree in 1955 from Texas A&M University. He entered the U.S. Army on January 6, 1956 until December 7, 1957, being discharged as a Corporal. Lucy works with the Marlin Independent School District, and she and James are very active in the First United Methodist Church of Marlin, where Lucy is a member of the choir. She has a lovely soprano voice, and also is the vocalist in the Hal Spencer orchestra, The Reminescents which was organized in Marlin.

     James William Glockzin is a funeral director in partnership with James Wilkey under the business name, "Adams Funeral Home," in Marlin. Lucy Ann's father previously was a funeral director in the same location - known as Barnes Adams Funeral Home.

     James and Lucy (Adams) Glockzin are the parents of four children - all born in Marlin, Falls County, Texas: .

     Don William Glockzin, b September 22, 1957 -is not married.

     Walter Adam Glockzin, b February 16, 1963 - is not married.

     Sarah Ann Glockzin, b April 2, 1960 - married October 6, 1979 in Marlin to Charles Preston Tindle, b February 22, 1960 in Marlin. They have one son, Matthew James Tindle, b February 15, 1983, in Waco, McLennan County, Texas.

     Benjamin James Glockzin, b January 9, 1968- was a 1986 graduate of Marlin High School.

     James and Lucy are very active in church, civic, community, and volunteer activities and organizations.
