Joseph William Funderburk, b. October 15, 1901 at Headsprairie, Limestone County, Texas, d. January 18, 1974 and buried in Waite Cemetery at Reagan, Falls County, Texas-was a son of William Cary and Mattie Donie (Jackson) Funderburk.

Joseph was married October 5, 1935 to Evelyn Marguerite Hetherington, b. November 2, 1915, d. June 29, 1972 and buried in Waite Cemetery at Reagan-a daughter of George K. and Fannie E. (Herridge) Hetherington. Joseph and Evelyn moved to the Reagan Community of Falls County soon after their marriage, and they were the parents of five children:

Billy Kyle Funderburk, b. August 10, 1936-married June 25, 1962 in West Memphis, Arkansas, to Mary Kay Frances Butler, b. December 25, 1944-a daughter of James Aubrey and Ophelia (Gueen) Butler. They reside in Reagan, Texas, and their children are: Regina Kay Funderburk, b. April 10, 1963 who married Teddy James Smith on June 7, 1980, and have Marissa Smith; Gregory Kyle Funderburk, b. July 15, 1964; Terry Wayne Funderburk, b. July 24, 1969, and Amber Michelle Funderburk, b. July 15, 1977.

Harold Monroe Funderburk, b. May 24, 1939-married August 17, 1965 to Margie Ann Wierzbicki.

Joseph Durwood Funderburk, b. September 28, 1940-married in Houston, Texas to Carla Rene Butler (sister of Mary Kay Frances Butler). Their two children are: Carmen Marguerite Funderburk, b. June 11, 1976; and George William Funderburk, b. June 1979. The family resides in Reagan, Texas.

Ruth Elaine Funderburk, b. December 10, 1951-married September 10, 1971 to Gerald Curtis Benton.

James Cary Funderburk, b. September 24, 1953, died in 1981, and buried in Waite Cemetery at Reagan.

Joseph William Funderburk was a farmer, and raised livestock.
