FISER, LEANDER WILLIS

Surnames: FISER, RIDGEWAY, BOWMAN

Leander Willis Fiser, b. on May 28, 1843 in Weakley Co., Tenn., a son of Willis A. and Offa (Ridgeway) Fiser moved with his parents and other children to Cherokee Co., Kansas in 1855. In 1861, he moved to McDonald Co., Missouri, where in August, 1862 he entered the Confederate States Army, serving under Captain Cummings with service west of the river until after the war.

When Leander arrived at Mooreville with his parents, one brother and three sisters, he settled on a 400 acre farm near the town. On December 30, 1868, he was married to Emma Bowman, b. ca 1850 in Alabama, a daughter of John Lewis and Matilda Bowman of South Carolina. The couple had eight children: Anna, John Franklin (died), Andrew L., Lillie, Emma, Marvin, Offa, and Catherine Fiser. Leander was a Democrat, a member of the Mooreville Methodist Church and a school trustee of the Mooreville school.
