William Hayden Ferguson, b. October 8, 1860 in Falls County, Texas, d. August 4,
1929 and buried in Kosse Cemetery at Kosse, Limestone County, Texas-was the
eldest of two sons of Henry Clay Ferguson-a carpenter who was b. in 1835 in
Kentucky, d. ca 1863 in the Civil War while in Arkansas with the Confederate
States Army-who married September 8, 1859 to Nancy Ann Williams, b. August 25,
1842, d. December 4, 1920-a daughter of William F. Williams, b. January 14, 1814
in Kentucky, d. August 27, 1878. His was located about on the line of
Limestone and Falls Counties-as he was on the 1860 and 1870 Falls County
censuses, but was buried in the family cemetery across the road in Limestone
County, near Mustang Prairie in Falls County. He married in Nacogdoches County,
Texas on September 16, 1841 to Amanda Walling, b. August 1, 1825 in Mississippi,
d. April 16, 1912, and buried by her husband in the family cemetery known as
Williams Family Cemetery. The only brother of William Hayden Ferguson was John
Ferguson, b. 1863, d. 1884 and buried in the Williams Family Cemetery.
On November 21, 1895, William Hayden Ferguson married Lena A. Fuller, b.
September 3, 1876 in Limestone County, d. December 26, 1963 and buried in the
Kosse Cemetery in Limestone County-a daughter of Abraham and Rhoda Fuller, who
came to Limestone County from Cook County, Texas.
William Hayden Ferguson was in the lumber business in Kosse, and he and Lena had
six children:
Marion R. Ferguson, b. January 1, 1989 in Falls County-married Wallace Bradburn
Parrott and had a son, William Boyd (called "Boyd") Parrott, who married first
to Dorothy Whitner and had four children: Marion Louise Parrott who's not
married, William Boyd Parrott, Jr. who married Cecile Shelly, Margaret Parrott
who married a Mr. Dempsey and has five children, and Dona Parrott who married a
Mr. Hardin and has three children. Boyd married second to June Graves, b. June
6, 1921-a daughter of Joseph and Cora (Duncan) Graves, and her maternal
grandfather was Green Berry Duncan-a patriot of the Texas Revolution and
Republic of Texas, who served on the Commissioners Court of Falls County.
Marion (Ferguson) Parrott has made her in Marlin for many years, and her
son, "Boyd," lives here also.
Travis Ferguson, b. ca 1900, died young, and was buried in the Williams Family
Cemetery near his grandmother, Nancy (Williams) Ferguson.
John E. Ferguson, b. May 15, 1905, d. August 26, 1956-served in World War II as
APFC in the U.S. Army, 749th Tank Division. He was buried in the Kosse Cemetery.
Henry Delbert Ferguson ("Mike"), b. October 8, 1907, d. Marcy 11, 1947 and
buried in the Kosse Cemetery-married on June 19, 1925 to Mildred Johnson, b.
September 26, 1907 in Falls County, Texas, d. ca December 1984 in Waco, Texas-a
daughter of William Joseph and Eula (Alston) Johnson. Mike enlisted in World War
II, a Tech Sergeant in the 377th Infantry. He and Mildred had one daughter,
Helen Janice Ferguson, b. April 4, 1927, d. August 1984 in Waco, Texas who
married on March 18, 1955 to Dr. Jackson Wilson Flowers, b. October 24, 1920 at
Reagan, Falls County, Texas, d. in 1981 in Waco; and they were the parents of
two daughters, Patti Ann Flowers, b. February 5, 1956 and Susan Janice Flowers,
b. February 12, 1959.
Beatrice Ferguson, b. ca 1909-married John Bennett Dees.
Abraham Fuller-father of Lena (Fuller) Ferguson, died soon after moving to
Limestone County, Texas-leaving his widow with two young daughters. Mrs.
Ferguson's sister, Rhoda Fuller (named for their mother), married a Mr. Chaffin,
and lived at Grapeland, Texas, where their mother also lived during her
widowhood, until her death.
