JOHN HENRY DAVIS

 

 

     John Henry Davis, b July 17, 1874 at Corinth, Mississippi, d October 18, 1944 - was a son of James William Davis. About 1895, John Henry was married to Ella Pearl Crow, b September 15, 1879 in Kossuth, Mississippi, d January 14, 1972 - a daughter of James Franklin Crow. The couple lived in the Chilton area of Falls County, Texas, where thirteen children were born, with eleven surviving to adulthood:

     Jeff Lee Davis, b December 14, 1896, d November 21, 1978-married Irma Ladonia Rancher.

     Albert Wheeler Davis, b December 18, 1898 at Chilton, d November 11, 1938 - married Virgie Cleo Byrd.

     Emmett Gerald Davis, b & d January 5, 1901.

     Jesse Burton Davis, b October 17, 1903, d December 23, 1969 - married Vera Edith Byrd.

     John Bernie Davis, b November 11, 1905 - married Winnie Lee Craemer.

     Anna Belle Davis, b March 14, 1908 - married Grady Oscar Grisham.

     Dora Lucille Davis, b April 15, 1910, d July 23, 1980 - married Frank Robinson.

     Lila Mae Davis, b January 7, 1913 - married Clarence Owen Upchurch.

     Erma Irene Davis, b January 8, 1915, d October 27, 1983 - married Albert Miller.

     Myrtle Davis, b & d January 28, 1917.

     Carmen Ruth Davis, b April 20, 1919 - married Ray Conner.

     Frances Louise Davis, b October 14, 1921 - married Ruble Harrison.

     Robert Henry Davis, b March 4, 1924 - married Patsy Lee Beason.
