CURRY and LAMBERT CONNECTIONS

Thomas and Matilda (Rogers) Curry also had a daughter Susan who was born in Robertson County, Texas, on December 16, 1835.  She was listed in the Texas Census taken in February 1836 (this listing was in "McLean, PAPERS CONCERNING ROBERTSON'S COLONY IN TEXAS, Volume XII" p. 595.), though she was not listed in the First Census of Texas with the family in Sabine District.  She was with the family in Brazos County, Texas in the 1850 census.  (Though it is listed as McCurry, it is our family and easily recognized by the listing of children.)  She married Robert Lambert, son of Isaac Buck Lambert and Ellenor Thompson Lambert, who was born July 24, 1835 in Monroe County, Alabama.  The marriage took place in the spring or early summer of 1860, and therefore, she was not listed in Falls County with her family in 1860.  Her father gave them land in Ellis County in 1869 and included her in the disbursement of his estate along with her other siblings. (Another Lambert marriage in Falls County was of Robert's older brother, Berry B. Lambert to Emaline Susan Easley on May 2, 1861.)

During their marriage, Robert and Susan lived in various parts of eastern Texas, and are found on census records in Ellis County, Navarro County, and Bosque County.  Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge #267 in Stephenville from 1867 to 1868, Lodge #315 in Cleburne from 1872 to 1874, Lodge #499 in Chamberscreek (Ennis, Ellis County) from 1878 to 1892 where he was a Master Mason, and Lodge #236 in Relief (Kerens, Navarro County) from 1895 to 1908.  Susan was a member of the Eastern Star during that
time.

Children of Robert Lambert and Susan Curry include the following:

(1)  Ida Elizabeth Sarah Lambert, born March 29, 1863 in Ellis County, died August 19, 1929 in Bexar County, Texas.  She married Thomas Howard Stanley on July 20, 1884 in Ellis County, Texas.  According to census
records, they lived in Ellis County, Falls County, and Navarro County. Their children include Thomas Jefferson Stanley, Robert Joseph Stanley, William Lee Stanle, Henry James Stanley, George Dewey Stanley, Mary M.
Stanley (Schooler), and Edward N. Stanley.
(2)  Ella Lambert, born August 16, 1866, died May 21, 1962, married ____Counts, and is buried beside Matilda, her sister, in Bardwell, Ellis County, Texas.
(3)  Thomas I. Lambert, born 1868, Texas, married Della M. _____ about 1894.
(4)  Mary Anna Lambert, born March 1871, Ellis County, Texas, married a Westbrook and had Mabel and Myrtle.
(5)  Matilda Lambert born ca 1873, died September 19, 1877, Ellis County, Texas and is buried beside her mother.
(6)  Mary Ellenor Lambert, born March 8, 1880, Ennis, Ellis County, Texas, married Milton Mellon DeArman in Navarro County, Texas May 17, 1900, had a son, Thomas Milton DeArmond, and died 1961 in Oklahoma.

Robert Lambert died December 4, 1928 in Texas.  Susan Curry Lambert died March 18, 1920 in Walnut Springs, Bosque County, Texas.  They are both buried at Elm Branch Cemetery, Bardwell, Ellis County, Texas.
