THOMAS McKINLEY CRISWELL
Thomas
McKinley Criswell, b February 6, 1928 in Falls County, Texas - was a son of
Thomas Turner and Mary Amelia (McKinley) Criswell. He received his degree in
Agronomy in the Class of 1952 from Texas A&M University, and owns Criswell
Enterprises in Marlin, Texas.
On
November 27, 1958, Tom married first to Mrs. Wanda Lea (Harper) Mobley, b August
24, 1928 in Grady Community, Falls County, Texas, d November 7, 1982 in Marlin,
Texas - a daughter of Roy L. and Sidney Harper. Wanda had three daughters by her
first marriage to Charles A. Mobley, and Tom adopted them: Pamela, b March 8,
1948; Shannon, b October 13, 1952; and Kathy, b February 1, 1954. Tom and Wanda
also had a son, Thomas McKinley Criswell II, b December 31, 1959.
Wanda
was a Marlin High School graduate, and attended business school in Dallas,
Texas. She was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marlin for
fifteen years, worked for Marlin Independent School District, and worked two
years before her death with her husband's business. She was a member of the
First Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the choir.
On April
8, 1984 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, Thomas McKinley Criswell married second
to Barbara June (Houston) Davison (called "June"), b July 11, 1930 in Falls
County, Texas - a daughter of John Durward and Hildred (Elder) Houston, who had
two daughters, Lee Ann and Susan Elizabeth Davison, by her first marriage to
Robert Davison.
Tom and
June Criswell continue to reside in Marlin, Texas.
