Last Will and Testament of John Nettles
In the name of God Amen. I John Nettles of the County of Sumter and State of South Carolina, being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make ordain publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament: That is to say. I will give bequeath and dispose of all my Real Estate and personal property as follows to wit: To my beloved Wife Mary Jane Nettles all my lands an appurtenances situated thereon, known as ???? ???? in the County of Sumter and State of South Carolina, together with all household and kitchen furniture that I may have, my Wagon and buggy and all stock such as cattle, hogs, horses, and mules during the term of her natural life and after her death to be given to my Son Willie Sumter Nettles and I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made. In witness hereof I have hereon subscribed my name and affixed my seal this ….day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Eighty Three.
