Will of Edward Wells
I
Edward Wells of Sumter District Planter, being of sound and disposing mind do
make this my last will and Testament ‑
First
‑ I give and bequeath to my daughter Lydia Ann Wells Two Hundred and
Eleven acres of Land disignated in a General plat of my real Estate by Plat No
1 made by T. Davis D.S. dated 19th, August 1841 also Seventy five dollars or a
Horse worth that amount —
Secondly
‑ I give and bequeath to my son Warren S Wells one hundred and four acres
of Land disignated in said general plat by plat No 3, also Seventy five Dollars
or a Horse worth that amount ‑
Thirdly
‑ I give and bequeath to my son Richard F Wells Eighty acres of Land
disignated in said general Plat by Plat No 4 -
Fourthly
I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha P Tindall one hundred and three acres
of Land disignated in said general Plat by Plat No 5 also seventy five Dollars
or a Horse worth that
amount-
Fifthly
‑ I give and bequeath to my Son Peter E Wells one hundred and three acres
of Land disignated in said general plat by plat No 6 - also seventy five
Dollars or a Horse worth that amount-
Sixthly
‑ I give and bequeath to my daughter Esther Harvin one hundred and seven
acres of Land disignated in said general plat as plat No 7 Also seventy five
Dollars or a Horse worth that amount-
Seventhly
- I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary E Linam, Seventy five Dollars or a
Horse worth that amount-
Eighthly
- I give and bequeath to my children (Viz) Henry H. Wells, Mary E Linam,
Richard F Wells, Peter E Wells, Warren S Wells, Lydia A. Wells, Esther Harvin, and Martha P Tindall all the
balance of My Estate both real and personal to be Equally divided between them
share and share alike ‑
Ninthly
‑ It is my request that my Executors shall sell the balance of my real
Estate not above bequeathed without going to the Expense of getting an order
from the ordinary, or from any other source-
Tenthly
‑ I nominate and appoint, Henry H Wells, Richard F Wells, Peter E. Wells
and Lemuel B Davis Executors to my Estate.
