I James Spann, Senior, ofSumter District and State aforesaid, do make and ordain this my lastwill andTestament----------------------------------------------------------------------
I give to my Son William a negro woman calledDamas which I have heretofore loaned to hi I give to Son Type a negrowoman called Delina, which I have heretofore loaned to him
I give to my daughter Heriot wife of Walker Watsona negro girl called Darky, which I have heretofore loaned toher-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And I give to my daughter Anna wife of Dr. Yates anegro woman named Suckey which I have heretofore loaned toher-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I give to my son Charles a prime negro woman orthe value thereof as my Executors may think best, whenever he maythink proper to call upon them for thesame-----------------------------
As I have already given to my two Eldest SonsWilliam and Tyre, Each a horse worth One hundred and fifty Dollars, Iwish my son Charles to have one of equal value and also Each of mytwo youngest Sons Lawrence and Timothy as they shall arrive atage
The rest of my Estate real and personal I wishkept together for the support and maintainance of my wife Anna andthe support maintainance and Education of my three youngest childrenLawrence Timothy and Maria and as these three Children Severallymarry or arrive at age I wish them each to have a negro equal invalue to a prime young woman&emdash; the valuation to be establishedmy Executors-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After my three youngest Children shall have beeneducated and provided for as before directed I give the balance andresidue of my Estate real and personal to my wife Anna for and duringher natural life and at her death I wish the Same Equally dividedbetween my Children----- All the Estate real and personal given orintended to be given hereafter by this will I wish held in Trust byTyre Jennings and James G. Spann So that the portions or sharesallotted to my Sons shall not be subject to their disposal or liablefor their debts; And the portions or shares allotted to my daughtersshall not be subject to their disposal or liable for their own debtsor the debts of their present or any future husbands.
Should any of my Children die and not leave aChild or Children who shall marry or attain the age of twenty oneyears all the Estate real and personal given them by this will, Iwish Equally divided between my survivingChildren--------------------------------------------------------------------
I do hereby nominate and appoint Tyre Jennings andJames G. Spann my Executors
I witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and Sealthis Nineteenth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousandeight hundred and Twenty Seven---------

Codicil- It is my will and desire that my two SonsLawrence and Timothy have in stead of the negro woman given to eachof them of the value of four hundred Dollars the following negrowoman and their Children to be equally divided between them ( that isto say) Anaky and her three Children Will, Lozetta and Willis; AndVilet and her three Children Called Lewis, Thadius and Alfred-InWitness whereof I hereunto Set my hand and Seal this

It is also my will and desire that my daughterMaria instead of the negro woman given to her the value of fourhundred dollars the following negros to wit Hannah and Edwin togetherwith her increase.
