Will of Mary Singletary

 

 

In the name of God Amen, I Mary Syngletary domake and ordain this my last Will and Testament. First - I give andrecommend my soul to Almighty God, my body to be decently buried; myworldly estate to be devided as follows, my funeral charges to bepaid in a convenient time after my death.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughterEliza B. Syngletary all that plantation or tract of Land I dwell on;containing One Hundred Acres More or lefs to her and herChildren.

 

Item I give and bequeath into my Grand daughterEliza B. Syngletary one Negro Man named Jaffrey to her and herChildren.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto Silas P. Syngletaryone Tided Colt and if the Colt be sold the Money be put on Interest. It is also my request that this tract of Land that I give unto myGrand daughter of one hundred Acres More or lefs to her and herchildren, its my request not to be sold and also the Negro ManJaffrey.

 

It is my request that Mr Allen Syngletary can liveon the said tract of Land and the negro man Jaffrey if he will givesatisfaction to Eliza B. Singletary and Children as long as helives.

 

I do Hereby Authorize, constitute, nominate &Appoint my Grand daughter Eliza B. Syngletary & Alen Syngletaryto be my whole & sole Executors of this my last will &testament. I do hereby utterly disallow & disanull all and everyother former will and testament by me heretofore made.

 

This and no other to be my last will &testament in Witnefs whereof hereunto I set my hand & Seal this3rd, August 1840.
