I Matthew L Moore of the District and State aforesaid do announce this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all other, that my have been heretofore made by me. I require of my Executors that my just debts be paid before there is any distribution or payment of legacies as hereafter directed
Item 1st I give and bequeath to my son Matthew L Moore, Junior, all my real estate whatever that I now possess or my be in possession of at the time of my death, to him and his heirs forever.
Item 2nd I give to my daughter Harriott R Moore one thousand dollars to be paid her by my Executors [herein after named] at the time of my death, or in two years after, if it is to the interest of my estate to defer the payment so long.
Item 3rd I give to my daughter Mary Honoria Hunter, the sum of one thousand dollar to be paid her by my Executors at the time of my death or in two years there after, if it is to the interest of my estate to defer the payment so long.
Item 4th I give to my son Matthew L Moore, Junior, the following Negroe slaves namely, Daniel, Becky, Milly, Musee, Manning, Irvin, Nely, William, Sue, Gibb, Patsy, Croppo, Becky Brister, Tener, Prince Isaac, Sary, Louisa, Daniel Cork, Jack to him and his heirs forever.
Item 5th I give to my daughter Harriott R Moore the following Negroe slaves namely, Pete, Anah, Stephen, Deley, Levinia, Jackson, Sillar, Ned, Ephrain, Dinah, Isaac, Deck, Ceasar, Ben, Sarah, Hannah, Fanny, Nelson, and Joshua, to her and her heris forever
Item 6th I give to my daughter Mary Honoria Hunter the following Negroes slaves namelyTisha, Henry, Bob, Rosilla, Minda, Dave, Ellen, Ezekiel, Marian, Logger Hannah, Cooner Ezekiel and Sally to her and her heirs forever.
Item 7th I give to my son M L Moore, Junior, my faithful servant Cely, likewise, Andrew, Netty and her son, Theddeus, Warren, and in consideration of the faithful services of my Negroe Cely, I enjoin it on my son M L Moore, Junior to support her during her life in comfort and to suffer her to remain upon his plantation.
Item 8th I give to my son Matthew L Moore, Junior, all my household and kitchen furniture likewise all my stock of horses, mules, cattle and of every description whatsoever to him and his heirs forever.
Item 9th I give to my daughter Marriott R Moore and Mary Honoria Hunter, each a pair of horses to be valued at four hundred dollars each pair and to be paid for by my Executors out of my Estate.
Item 10th I give to my son Matthew L Moore and my daughters Harriott R Moore and Mary Honoria Hunter, the residue of my estate [not herein disposed of] of every description whatsoever to be equally divided among them, the Negroes to be valued and apportioned by as much as possible together and should there be any difference, the deficiency to be made up in money to them having the least valuable lots.
Item 11th-- I appoint my son Matthew L Moore and my brother Richard Moore and John J Moore my lawful Executors, to take into their possession at my decease all my Estate of every description whatever and to keep it together undivided until my just debts are paid or for three years should so long be necessary for their discharge and no longer.
Witness my hand seal this 22nd day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.
