I John McKay of State and District Aforesaid being in feeble health of body, but of perfect mind and memory blessed be God for the same. But Calling to mind the Mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed unto all men to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament principally and first of all I resign my soul to God who gave it, and the worldly Estate it has pleased him to bless me with I give and bequeath in the following manner Viz,--
 
 

Item 1st I Will and bequeath to my beloved Wife Tabitha McKay One negro man named Coff to dispose of as she sees proper I also Will and bequeath to my beloved wife Tabitha and to my beloved Daughter Martha Jane McKay One negro man named Mingo and One negro woman named Linda and her child Named Hardy with whatever increase she may hereafter have, during their lives, And at the decease of the One it is my Will and desire that the above named negroes Viz Mingo, Linda and her child, Hardy, with their increase shall go to the other, and at the decease of both, my wife and daughter Matha Jane it is my will and desire that the above named negroes be equally divided between my Children John McKay Jesse McKay Samuel McKay Mary Newman Harriett Suckey and the heirs of Simon Donald their Mothers part. I also Will and bequeath to my beloved Wife Tabitha and my Daughter Martha Jane McKay one Hundred acres of land on which the house and dwelling stand their lifetime and at the decease of both, it is my Will and desire, that it be equally divided between my Sons Isaiah McKay. Jesse McKay, and Samuel McKay. I also Will and bequeath to my beloved Wife Tabitha McKay One Riding Chair and One house to dispose of at pleasure, I also Will and bequeath to My beloved Wife Tabitha and my Daughter Martha Jane McKay all my household and kitchen furniture together with all my Stock of horses hogs Cows Sheep & C their life time and at their Decease to be equally divided between my children and their respective heirs----------

I will and bequeath to my beloved Daughter Mary Newman Fifty acres of land on which she now lives During her lifetime or widowhood and at the expiration of either, it is my Will and desire that it be equally divided between my sons Isaiah McKay Jesse McKay and Samuel McKay--

I Will and bequeath to my beloved sons John McKay, Isaiah McKay. Jesse McKay and Samuel McKay all my landed Estates not already, willd away to be equally divided between them---------

I Will and bequeath to Isaiah McKays children One Negro woman named Miley and her child Eliza--It is my Will and desire that after the payment of my Just and Lawful debts-the Remainder of my Estate not already willd away be equally divided between my children Charles McKay, Jesse McKay, Samuel McKay, Mary Newman. Hariet Suckey and the heirs of Simon Donald their Mothers part- I do hereby Constitute and appoint John McKay and Samuel McKay executors to this my last Will and Testament revoking and annulling all former Wills and Testaments in Testimony Whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and Seal this nineteenth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Forty three and in the Sixty Eighth year of American Independence---------------
